HexWeb® XT for QPS now available
The Quark Publishing System gains Web features
One of the leading editorial systems for newspaper and magazine publishing, The Quark Publishing System (QPS) from Quark, Inc., can now be enhanced to support direct HTML publishing from the Editor workstations.
The Quark Publishing System is a workgroup publishing system that integrates QuarkXPress(TM) with word processing, file tracking, and editorial management applications. QPS enables writers, editors, and layout artists to work simultaneously and work as a group. Currently, QPS has been installed in more than 300 sites worldwide, ranging from small systems to installations with as many as 300 seats and 10 QuarkDispatch(TM) servers.
HexWeb XT for CopyDesk can be used with the QPS System in a work group to generate full indexed Web issues of newspapers and magazines.
Editors can fetch articles from the Dispatch Database and directly export them into the Web server structure.
Most important, HexWeb XT for CopyDesk can be used in a workgroup environment, enabling different departments to work together on an online publication. HexWeb XT for CopyDesk handles and stores all HTML files centrally, even tracing changes in the site structure and updating the relevant HTML tags automatically. New or updated files are integrated into the Web server structure on the fly.
Most features of HexWeb XT for QuarkXPress are enclosed, such as Hyperlinks, Headers & Footers, creating of the Web server structure, automatic tables of contents and LinkChecking. The XTension HexWeb XT for CopyDesk is bundled with the latest version of HexWeb Index Pro. This professional index generator which encompasses the new Hotsauce feature (and several other index options), generates fully indexed Web issues of newspapers and magazines within seconds.
