The Cascading Style Sheet Level 1 (CSS1) mechanism provides a powerful
way to attach style to HTML documents. The release of
CSS1 standard and its first implementation in Microsoft
Internet Explorer 3.0 made it real to the Web. Today, the 4:th
generation of both browsers support CSS1 standard up to a high level, with some differences, though.
Cascading StyleSheets support is a bit different in different
browsers. Therefore, HexWeb CSS Edit has a selector for target browsers,
allowing you to create CSS Styles according to CSS1 standard, to use the
tags Netscape Navigator4 or Microsoft Explorer 4 are supporting, or
to be sure, that your StyleSheets can be run in both 4.0 browsers, you can switch to
"Both Browsers Mode".
| CSS Positioning made easy: just drag your position elements, and CSS Edit will create the classes for you. |
Import of Style Sheets from other documents is supported in HexWeb CSS Edit. This makes possible to edit existing styles and re-use them in other HTML documents. The property list of the main dialog is designed to give the user a good overview of what properties are defined for an element without adding an additional mode to modify their values.
HexWeb CSS Edit generates code, that is compatible with Dreamweaver, the new DHTML application from Macromedia. You can also open your Dreamweaver pages in HexWeb CSS Edit for finetuning of the CSS functions. This makes perfect synergy between the two products.
