Real-Time events inside your browser
Whether you want stock data sent out live or you just need to know immediately if the status of a record has changed in your Intranet database, EventCaster Server is the perfect solution. EventCaster watches for changes and instantly sends messages to users and groups online. EventCaster is a modular JAVA-based Event Server and client applet.

The idea comes from our own customers, who need to send and receive real-time messages online without specialized client software. Publishers find EventCaster very practical for shortening the transfer time between editors. Immediately after a writer has checked in an article, the Chief editor knows it’s ready. The editor can then review the story immediately and pass it on to the next reviewer.

Create LIVE Auctions
Every online bidder knows the current bid instantly — just like in a real auction. Online auctions are among the most visited e-commerce Web services in use today. However, many auction services aren’t really multi-user-capable. Their method forces users to wait hours before knowing the next bid.

In a real auction, users can react to competing bids immediately. When you create an auction server using EventCaster, you have live interaction among all bidders. EventCaster administrates the process and knows exactly when to notify bidders about competing bids. EventCaster is based on open standards such as JAVA™, CORBA, and JavaScript. EventCaster uses a small invisible applet to register the client browser with an event server.

Our inventive implementation of this technology provides a universal event service that can be used for a wide range of purposes — from a simple chat to a complex auction server. And of course, EventCaster also makes a powerful adjunct to the HexBase Publishing System.
